    • Engineering Tinkers stack with other enchants. The ones listed above are more along the lines of enchants that are unique (in the sense of you can only have one of those listed on your gear at a time, even if it is profession exclusive).

I’m going to either update this post to include the profession perks or make a whole new post about them tonight.

  1. Thanks, Twintop. I know they stack, but was trying to determine if I should drop both professions I have currently for Tailoring and what’s seems to be the obvious choice, Inscription.

Looks like I may end up dropping Alchemy for Inscription and keep Engineering around. Is that a sound strategy?

    • Veiled at HowToPriest has a list up that contains most of the same info I’m going to add in tonight: http://howtopriest.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1625

I’d keep Engineering if only because of the increase from being able to time your tinker (as long as you use it as close to CD as possible you’ll be on par or better than the static stat increases). Alchemy is even with everything else except Leatherworking (by 10 int / 10 PP). Tailoring has a lot of RNG, but if you can make the most of the proc when it happens it should be a net increase. It all depends on play style and how good you are at using your CDs (or making use of procs) as soon as they come up.

Personally, I’m largely in the static bonus camp (even though I do have Tailoring).

      • Well remember that synapse springs do have a downside in that you can’t use them and an trinket at the same time. Though, PI and Berserking are game.

  2. Hi,
first of all thx for the list. It gives a good overview.
But I noticed some faults in the PP Values for the Racials. You shouldn’t use the Hit Value, instead you should use the stat value for the one you would reforge it to. Same with Goblins, above 25% Haste you would reforge haste to crit, which would give a little higher PP Value. Last (and for me the most important one^^) is the troll racial, above 25% Haste it gives even more PP than below. The reason is, that you get 2 Extra-Ticks for DP and VT instead of only 1. The PP Values you use don’t contain these extra ticks. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. ;)

  3. I have my tinker macro’d, so it’s used on CD every time. And it looks like I’ll keep Alchemy, no reason to change when everything is equal (not counting LW…but I wouldn’t swap for 10pp anway).

  4. Wow, loved ur site.
These statistics will be very usefull.
Any chance of you make a pvp oriented analisis like this?

I thinking shadow will shine this season.

    Thank you

  5. Hey, great job with all of this information. I really appreciate all of this :)

    I had a question though:

I’ve been reading SO MUCH about spriests and have many different conflicting answers when I ask this question:

What secondary stat (assuming hit cap) is better after 8085 haste? Continue full haste? Go crit?

I see a lot of spriests going crit after reaching 8085 haste but that doesn’t seem right at all. According to all this data haste is still superior.

    • It’s a bit of a tossup right now. In some situations (single target, low movement, specifically) Crit is coming out on top. For any encounter that has multiple targets or you’re on the move, Haste is better. Additionally, player skill/skillcap has a lot to do with it as well. If you have very high active time in fights, Haste wins, but if you’re not (think less than 90-93%) then Crit edges out.

Either way you should be good…but I’d lean towards Haste.

      • Can you explain why haste is better with multiple targets and/or on the move?

For example: When I’m moving im spamming SWP on all the targets right? I don’t have time to stop and cast, so wouldn’t crit be better on the targets with my swp?

        • Haste makes our DoTs tick faster, which means damage is still occurring while moving. Faster/more ticks also means that you’ll get more FDCL and DI procs (if you’re spec’d in to them), which are also instant cast (to be cast while moving).

Also, while you’re moving and spamming SWP, Mastery would be better (in that very specific situation) because one crit of SWP is the same as a non-crit of SWP being duplicated via Mastery, but either one of those also have a chance to crit…and either one of those (from mastery) have a chance to proc DI, vs. just the first one with crit.

For multiple targets, our DoTs, while nerfed heavily in MoP compared to Cata, still have a very high DPET. Factor in extra chances for FDCL and DI procs (if spec’d for them), and you’ll have a lot of extra instant casts of MB or MSpike available to cast rather than MF as a filler.

    • Absolutely! It is in the works, but I’m waiting for some more reliable numbers (mostly meaning that they won’t change because of hotfixes and whatnot) before I go about updating this page. Hopefully by late this weekend.

      • Awesome thanks! I really needed some good guidance on making the choice between Troll & Goblin for 5.2 based on haste requirements from your breakpoints updated list. Love all of your work here, it has really helped me out!

        • Unfortunately I didn’t have time to update this post this weekend. Still going to try and get it done some time this week, but it may slide slightly.

To answer your question: you want to go Troll. Berserking is even more powerful now that Power Infusion stacks with Bloodlust…not to even get in to the bonus damage on many bosses in Throne of Thunder.

  6. I was hoping to see Forsaken’s “Touch of the Grave” racial further up the scale here, particularly with the recent(ish) buff given to Shadowform. Oh well! Seriously considering rerolling to Troll here!

  7. Concerning the bonus of The Human Spirit, is it considered purely as spirit? Because it could be reforged to haste.

    • I understand what you’re saying, but, the same could be said for the +1% Expertise / +1% Hit racial bonuses since technically you would take the excess 1% hit and reforge it to Haste (or Crit/Mastery if you’re GCD capped). It is more straightforward to leave it as “You can receive up to this much bonus spirit/hit, equal to $x PP.”
